An eight-year-old schoolgirl is in hospital after being struck by a motorcycle while using a pedestrian crossing.
According to reports, Sherry Fraser, 8, of Lot 201 Victoria Street, Cumberland, East Canje Berbice, was returning home from school on Wednesday, when she was hit on the pedestrian crossing by a speeding motorcycle.
A video circulating on social media shows the child standing briefly on the road shoulder, prior to crossing the Cumberland Public Road. Vehicles proceeding south had stopped to allow the child to cross the road from east to west.
