`Iswe’ to stand trial over murder of Shonette Dover

Shaquawn Alleyne, called ‘Iswe’, was yesterday committed to stand trial over the murder of Shonette Dover.

The police said in a statement yesterday that  Alleyne appeared  before Magistrate Rushelle Liverpool at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.

The court found that there was sufficient evidence to commit him to stand trial at the next practicable sittings of the Demerara Assizes.

Alleyne was arrested on 19th January 2024 at Moleson Creek in Corentyne, Berbice, for the murder of  Dover, which occurred between 3rd April 2021 and 30th April 2021 at Canvas City Wismar, Linden.

Dover was reported missing and her partially decomposed body was later found in her yard at Canvas City.
