Man charged with uttering forged General Marine cheques

Collin Hartman appeared on Wednesday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Fabayo Azore charged with multiple accounts of forgery.

Hartman pled not guilty to the charges.

It is alleged that on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Edward B. Beharry & Company Limited, Charlotte Street Georgetown, Hartman with intent to defraud, uttered to Manesha Sawh, a cashier, one tax invoice drawn for the sum of $188,100 purporting to be issued by General Marine Company, knowing the same to be forged.

It is also alleged that on Monday June 24, 2024, at Edward B. Beharry & Company Limited, Charlotte Street Georgetown, Hartman with intent to defraud, uttered to Manesha Sawh a cashier, one tax invoice drawn for the sum of $119,700 purporting to be issued by General Marine Company, knowing the same to be forged.

Hartman’s attorney’s request for him to be placed on self-bail was granted, the matter was adjourned to April 2.
