The Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) has secured a groundbreaking multi-year sponsorship deal with global sportswear giant Adidas, marking a historic moment for athletics in the country. The agreement, valued at US$300,000 for the first year, was unveiled yesterday at the National Track & Field Centre (NTFC) in Edinburgh, West Coast Demerara.

The sponsorship will provide not only financial assistance but also athletic gear over the next three years, with US$250,000 worth of equipment committed for that period. AAG President Sheryl Hermonstine confirmed that the deal includes both outfits and financial support for Guyanese athletes, a significant boost to the sport’s development.
