Twenty music producers from Regions Three, Four, Five, Six, and Ten recently participated in a week-long Advanced Mixing and Mastering Masterclass, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport in an initiative aimed at enhancing the technical skills of local producers and, ensuring that Guyanese music meets international production standards.
The workshop, facilitated by Colombian acoustic engineer Sergio Adarve, focused on critical areas such as advanced mixing concepts, mastering fundamentals, and genre-specific approaches. Participants received hands-on training in audio engineering techniques that will refine their craft and elevate the quality of locally produced music.
Speaking on the initiative, National Events Director Andrew Tyndall emphasised the government’s commitment to strengthening the music industry by providing structured training opportunities. He noted that with more platforms now available for local artists, there is a growing demand for high-quality music production.
