Region #2 and Tactical Services Unit (TSU) stormed into the semifinal round of the Commissioner T20 Cricket Championship, following commanding wins against Region #5 and Regions #4 A/B, respectively, at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
Region #2 dispatched Region #5 by seven wickets. Batting first, Region #5 posted what seemed to be a competitive total of 173/6 in their allocation.
However, Region #2 made light work of the target, blazing to 174/3 in a mere 13.4 overs. Damion Vantull smashed 97 runs, which contained 10 maximums and six boundaries, with Fazeer Khan supporting with 29.
Similarly, TSU battered Regions #4 A/B by 67 runs. Batting first, TSU, who were precariously perched on 87/7 at the end of the 15th over, ended on 214/8 following a record-breaking ninth-wicket partnership which consisted of 119 runs from 33 deliveries.
In response, Regions #4 A/B stumbled to 147/6 at the end of their allocation.
