Mahindra Girnandan, a 25 year old labourer from Adventure, Essequibo Coast, and Savita Anauge, a 51-year-old domestic worker from Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, were charged jointly yesterday with attempting to obstruct the course of justice.
On Sunday, Girnandan was in custody pending an investigation into several robberies, and his mother Savita Anauge visited the station and allegedly attempted to bribe two police officers with $1.7 million to forgo all investigations against her son.
