Shameena Budhu, a 59-year-old housewife of Good Hope (Sand Road) on the Essequibo Coast, was yesterday remanded to prison on the charge of trafficking in cocaine.
A release from the police yesterday said that Budhu was held on Sunday, 30th March 2025 with 2.03 grammes of cocaine.
She appeared at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke, where the charge was read to her. She pleaded not guilty to the charge. Bail was objected to by the prosecutor, and the defendant was remanded to prison.
The case was adjourned to 17th April 2025 for report.
