A fire broke out last evening at the Waaldijk Sawmill in Amelia’s Ward, Linden and an appeal was made by the town for assistance.
Deputy Mayor Dominique Blair in a Facebook post said that the town was facing a serious fire situation and due to the terrain the fire trucks were limited in what they could do.
“We are urgently calling on anyone with trucks, excavators, water tanks, or other heavy-duty equipment to come forward and assist us in containing this fire before it spreads further.
“This is a community emergency if you have the equipment or resources and are nearby please come out now. Every bit of help counts.
