Death-dealing hands

The bodies of two sons of this nation are in the morgue like their lives had no meaning or purpose. They were killed by members of the Guyana Police Force. Again, the earth has drank the blood of Guyana’s young sons. Again, the death-dealing hands have delivered their sacrifices to the entities they serve. They bow to arrogance, oppression, cruelty, contempt and maliciousness. Their hands seek to steal, destroy and kill. They seek to aggravate peaceful people to raise their voices, to light fires, block roads and to throw missiles so that they can be justified when they point their fingers and stigmatise them, while threatening their lives by shooting at them. The people are expected to remain calm and acquiesce to the breaking of their bones and the draining of their blood while those who seek to kill and destroy them are regarded by some as heroes.
