Yesterday, Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn visited the days-old fire scene at Amelia’s Ward, Linden to assess the situation and receive a full briefing.
He was updated on the current status of the blaze at the Waaldijk Sawmill and the methods being deployed to contain and extinguish it. The fire started on Wednesday.
Firefighters remain on the ground, working to prevent the spread of the fire to nearby residential areas.
Their efforts continue around the clock to bring the situation under control and ensure the safety of all affected communities.
