An effort by the President to glorify himself

Dear Editor,

It is very disconcerting to see the President of our country taking the stage in all our affairs that I feel should rightly involve the Ministers and other officials of the ministries that concern the various issues being addressed.

This can only be interpreted as an effort to glorify himself as all-knowing and all-powerful, which we have witnessed in history as the beginning of the making of a dictator.

I am sure so much more can be achieved if each matter is dealt with by the ministers and those directly responsible for the issues being attended to, as they would be more knowledgeable of these.

I would once again urge our politicians to follow the example of our late famous leader and humanitarian, Dr. Cheddi Jagan, who had always tried to get the best out of every situation by his unselfishness and promotion of those in his government.

Sincerely,

Roy Paul
