The Beterverwagting Post Office was on Tuesday evening broken into and the perpetrators escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash, phone cards and a small quantity of stamps.
“The Guyana Post Office Corporation (GPOC) and Guyana Police Force are currently conducting an investigation into this incident,” a press release from the GPOC said.
“The Corporation regrets any inconvenience that may have been experienced by persons wishing to access their regular services at this location,” the release said. The general public will be able to continue their regular transactions at the facility from today, the GPOC said.
In recent times, several post offices across the country have been burglarised.
