US EXIM Chair to visit

-in aftermath of US$527m loan approval Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis will visit Guyana January 9 – 12, 2025 to highlight the EXIM Board of Directors’ recent approval of US$527 million in financing to support a gas-to-energy project that will double the country’s installed electricity capacity.

American teen drowns during outing with family at Linden

An American teen who had travelled to Guyana to celebrate his birthday, drowned during an outing with family on Boxing Day in the Demerara River at Linden The post-mortem conducted by Government Pathologist, Nehaul Singh, on December 30, gave the cause of death of Demarius Payne, an 18-year-old college student from Atlanta, Georgia, United States and Wismar, Linden, as drowning.
