Global Seafoods Distributors says it will capitalize on the vision of its former CEO Allison Butters-Grant who died last Sunday after a brief illness.

In a statement released to the media, Butters-Grant was lauded as a trailblazer and an individual who appeared ‘larger than life’. It was noted that she brought her passion, experience and energy to everyone she came into contact with and to the organisations she was involved in.

It was stated that her love of country and contributions to its development over the years speak directly to her “passion for progress in Guyana on many levels”. It was noted that this same passion translated to her company and employees, which has suffered a major loss as a result of her passing.

“Mrs. Butters-Grant was greatly admired and respected as a female entrepreneur and trailblazer. She infused the Company with deeply held values of integrity, a strong sense of right and wrong, great compassion and loyalty, and a solid commitment to family, staff, community and above all a quality product that proudly carries the tag line “We eat what we sell”.  She was a trusted colleague, a successful entrepreneur, and an inspiration to many. Allison had the vision to establish Global Seafoods and with a steady hand she guided the company from its humble beginnings to a household name for quality seafood products. Allison has made an indelible mark on who we are today and we will keep her legacy of great service, personal relationships and outstanding stewardship alive and well,” the release stated.

The statement noted that the position of CEO of Global Seafoods will be assumed by Butters-Grant’s husband, Kerwin Grant, Managing Director of the company.

“…The rest of the Global Seafoods team will capitalize on the changes and vision that Allison has made and continue to expand, build and bring her vision into realization. Another hallmark of her leadership was building a great team to ensure that our guiding principles will remain intact and that our vision to build an unparalleled quality seafood brand will continue,” the statement read.

The company went on to thank its customers, suppliers, and the extended business community for its continued support, while noting that any enquiries related to operations and schedules over the coming days can be made through contact with the company’s  General Manager, Lindel Harlequin, at 592 225-4531 or 623-3474.
