The badly decomposed body of a Stanleytown, New Amster-dam woman was yesterday discovered in her house just before midday.
According to information gathered, the discovery was made after a relative of Nazmoon Fung, 72, of Lot 1 Block 31, Stanleytown reported that a scent was emanating from the woman’s house.
According to the police, the woman’s relative said that he visited her premises yesterday after he was informed that an unknown male was seen running out of her house.
After the report was filed, ranks from the New Amsterdam Police Station visited the location where they discovered the woman’s lifeless body in a bed in the building which she occupied alone.
The police in a statement yesterday said that ranks were unable to identify any visible marks of violence on the body due to the advanced state of decomposition.
An investigation has since been launched and a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out.
