A Guyana-based software engineering company was recently awarded a grant by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), CARICOM and the University of the West Indies totalling US$34,000 or $7 million to fund their project which is to create a database that will highlight businesses, freelancers, and organizations in the creative economy.
The software is to be labelled as the national creative registry.
Julius Simon, the Managing Director of the software engineering company, Ultimate Dimensions, noted that the idea of this project originated years ago and they applied for the grant when they saw the opportunity.
