Lionel Seline, 60, was yesterday sentenced to six months in jail after he was found guilty of indecently assaulting a five year old.
Seline, of 49 Stanleytown, was sentenced by Magistrate Omeyana Hamilton at the New Amsterdam Magistrates’ Court. His lawyer, Michael Baird, asked for leniency, noting Seline’s previously unblemished record and his age.
Prosecutor Roberto Figueira told the court that a case has been established beyond a reasonable doubt that Seline committed the act on September 8, 2007. Seline was caught in the act by the girl’s mother, who reported the matter to the police, leading to the charge.
