GFF, DFA ink historic MoU

The Guyana Football Federation [GFF] and the Denmark Football Association [DFA] yesterday inked an historic developmental Memorandum of Understanding [MoU] at the Pegasus Hotel, Kingston.

Secondary Schools basketball programme to commence next month

In an effort to create stronger structures at the secondary school level, the Guyana Basketball Federation [GABF] in partnership with the Guyana Olympic Association [GOA] will commence a National Basketball Grassroots Athlete Training Programme (NBGAP).

The Golden Jaguars suffered their second largest ever defeat against Caribbean giant Jamaica losing 4-0 yesterday at the National Track and Field Center, Leonora in their League-B matchup of the Concacaf Nations League.  The fifth ever meeting of the nations was rendered irrelevant at the end of the first half as the Jamaicans romped to a commanding 3-0 lead.  Analysis of the numbers indicate that Guyana completed 192 passes after attempting 241 at a rate of 80%.

Golden Jaguars seek first win against Reggae Boyz

History will firmly be in the corner of the visitors when the Reggae Boyz, Jamaica’s National Men’s Football team, battles the Golden Jaguars tonight in their League-B encounter of the CONCACAF Nations League at the National Track and Field Centre, Providence.

-in 1-0 win over Albouystown-B A dynasty was solidified on Saturday evening at the Jubilee Park Tarmac, as defending champion Gold is Money successfully defeated first-time finalist Albouystown-B 1-0 to retain the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown Championship.  One of the largest gatherings ever at a street-football final witnessed an historic moment, as the West Ruimveldt outfit became only the second team, joining fierce rival Sparta Boss to have won three consecutive Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ titles.  The calm before the proverbial storm came in the form of tournament sponsor and Colours Boutique proprietor Milton Branford and Director of Sports Christopher Jones meeting the teams.

A historic night brought the curtain down on the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ East Coast Demerara Championships as Melanie `B’ defeated Paradise `A’ 2-1 in a nerve-wracking penalty shoot-out to lift the coveted title for the second time on Monday.

The sound of the Aruba official’s final whistle confirmed the historic moment as Guyana defeated Belize 2-1 in their final CONCACAF Nations League Qualifier to seal their maiden appearance in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Golden Jaguars will look to create history tonight by securing a spot in the CONCACAF Gold Cup at the expense of opponents Belize.
