On Sunday, August 23 from 5 pm, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport will stage a massive cycling event from the University of Guyana entrance at Liliendaal to the Carifesta Sports Complex dubbed ‘The Big Ride’, under the theme ‘Ride On, Live Long’.

– Moore down for NABA title clash The latest boxing news to hit the streets is that national female bantamweight champion Shondel ‘Mystery Lady’ Alfred will fight for her first world title when she faces Canadian Corinne Van Ryck De Groot for the vacant Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) bantamweight title.

The King reigns again

It was not as spectacular as the first staging of the National Race of Champions in May this year, but the sequel marked a positive return for Andrew King as he once again showed why he was once  Caribbean Champion driver.

Director of Sports Neil Kumar yesterday stated that chess was added to the list of events which will be contested in the second stage of the 2009 Inter-Guiana Games (IGG) which will get underway  in Suriname in October.
