A sense of great anticipation was birthed when Guyanese duo Kevlon Anderson and Ashmead Nedd departed Guyana to join their Caribbean counterparts to contest the 2020 ICC under – 19 World Cup in South Africa. 

A couple of years ago, there was a lot of hype surrounding Kaysan Ninvalle; he was one of Guyana’s most exciting junior table tennis players who copped Caribbean honours, winning the Caribbean under – 11 title in Jamaica during 2016.

Following its latest round of trial simulations at the weekend, the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) has trimmed Guyana’s male and female under 21 volleyball  squads  ahead of competition in next month’s Inter Guiana Under – 21 volleyball tournament in Cayenne from February 27-29, 2020.  From the initial group of 40 players, the federation yesterday named 15 male and 15 female players who are to engage in further preparations before the squads are further broken down to the final travelling delegation.

Left-arm spinner Raj Nannan produced a spell of sorcery on Tuesday evening to spur Malteenoes All-Stars in the semifinal of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Twenty20 tournament after securing a crushing eight-wicket win over the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) in the Twin Island Republic.

Outspoken junior national table tennis coach Dwain Dick has expressed concern over the scheduling of the upcoming senior and junior national table tennis championships which is set to serve off in just a few days.

High on the agenda of the Guyana Squash Association (GSA) this year are plans to send a junior boys team to the 2020 Pan Am games.
