GABA league gets Powerade support

Halfway through the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association’s (GABA) league, Banks DIH by way of its Powerade hydration drink and an undisclosed sum of money pledged its support to boost the league yesterday at Banks DIH headquarters, Thirst Park.

Achievers take $80,000 and trophy in volleyball tournament

Goed Fortuin Young Achievers proved why they were the number one seed heading into the final of the GuyOil/ Tradewind Tankers ‘True Champions’ Volleyball Tournament by walking away with the top prize of $80,000 and a trophy for their winning exploits.

Bryan wins top 16 title

There seems to be no stopping Nigel Bryan. Twenty four hours after receiving his joint Junior Sportsman-of-the-Year award, Bryan played his way to the winning prize of $300,000 by capturing the Guyana Table Tennis Association’s (GTTA) Top 16 tournament at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall Saturday night.

Fiery Carifta trials expected tomorrow

With the inclement weather seemingly over after forcing the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) to postpone its annual Carifta trials to tomorrow, the meet is expected to be a fiery one when it runs off from 10am  at the Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary.
