Farmers, agro processors, GMC staff for capacity-building training

With the focus on the realisation of increased production and profitability in selected agricultural sub-sectors, the John Ogonowski and Doug Bereuter Farmer to Farmer Programme, is currently harnessing technical assistance from United States volunteers to support farmers, farm groups, agribusiness and agriculture sector institutions in Guyana with the goal of “promoting sustainable improvements in food security and agricultural processing,” according to information released by the Farmer To Farmer coordinating group in Guyana.

A week after citing what he said was an anti-union clause in the employment agreement of the company, TOTALTEC Oilfield Services Guyana Inc, General Secretary of the Guyana Trades Union Congress (GTUC) Lincoln Lewis has told the Stabroek Business that the trade union umbrella body will be seeking to express “more detailed sentiments on the matter of the relationship between local employees and foreign employers connected to the oil and gas sector.”
