The Ministry of Labour’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Department is currently investigating a workplace fatality that occurred on Tuesday, July 16th 2024 at Lot 37 Section ‘C’ Land of Canaan, EBD.

CANU drops cocaine charges against former national cyclist

Businessman and former national cyclist, Tyrone Hamilton, appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Diamond/Grove Magistrate’s Court yesterday where the charge of conspiracy to traffic 71.2 kilogrammes of cocaine which was laid against him was dismissed after the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) issued a letter for the withdrawal of the matter.

Cops find AR rifles, ammo in South Ruimveldt operation

Ranks from the Guyana Police Force’s Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters (CID H/Q), Narcotics branch conducted an  intelligence-led operation between 18:00hrs and 21:30hrs yesterday  in South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, which led to the discovery of high-powered firearms, ammunition and narcotics.
