Rose Hall Estate will be the first to reopen – Mustapha

On the occasion of the 108th anniversary of the Rose Hall Estate Martyrs, Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha on Saturday announced in the East Canje, Berbice area that the Rose Hall Estate will be the first of the three closed sugar estates to be formally reopened.

Ramraj defends Homenauth’s removal

Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture Madanlall Ramraj has defended the ministry’s decision to replace National Agricultural Research & Extension Institute (NAREI) head Dr Oudho Homenauth, claiming that the agency has not performed as expected despite the continued investment that has been made into its work.

A further breakdown of the data shows that the most cases that were recorded in the period of one month is 1,660, which was recorded in the month of September 2020. This month also tied with October for the highest number of deaths (44) being recorded in a month’s span.
