Corentyne man charged with killing nephews

Vernan Ravi Rangadoo, the Corentyne, Berbice man who fatally stabbed his two step-nephews on Sunday evening at Number 43 Village, was yester-day remanded to prison after he was charged with their murders.

Quake-hit Rupununi communities still experiencing tremors

The ever widening cracks in the walls of 27 houses as well as the Sawariwau Primary School in Katoonarib are visible evidence of Sunday’s 5.7 magnitude earthquake in the Deep South Rupu-nuni, as the community continues to experience aftershocks.

Sod turned for new Prospect secondary school

The sod was turned yesterday at the site of the planned Prospect Secondary School and Education Minister Priya Manickchand said it is expected to deliver quality secondary education to 1,000 students on the East Bank of Demerara.
