GECOM denies not acting on LJP request to replace councillor

The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) yesterday stated that it has communicated and provided direction to the Liberty and Justice Party (LJP) about the required documents to be submitted to grant their request to replace its councillor on the Regional Democratic Council of Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni).

Black Bush family at a loss after relative takes his own life

After receiving information that a body matching the description of their missing relative was found hanging from a tree in Rosignol on Saturday afternoon, the day their relative went missing, a Black Bush Polder family ventured to Region Five yesterday morning where their worst fears were confirmed when they positively identified the body to be that of their relative, Nezamadeen Kalamodeen.
