Karasabai being neglected by authorities in COVID-19 fight – councillor

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread in the Upper Takutu/Upper Essequibo region, village leaders of Karasabai in the South Pakaraimas say that the community is being neglected by the authorities and this has resulted in the death of two elderly persons who were suffering from severe symptoms but were not being monitored because they were still awaiting their test results.

Cyclist dies in Liliendaal accident

A 40-year-old pedal cyclist died after he was struck down by a speeding motor vehicle along the Rupert Craig Highway yesterday afternoon.

Six cops in Region One test positive for COVID

Six members of the Guyana Police Force, who are stationed in Region One (Barima-Waini), recently tested positive for the new Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after experiencing symptoms of dengue fever.

Thirty-seven employees of the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Kingston have been made redundant according to Minister of Labour Joseph Hamilton who noted that the severed employees are from various departments of the operations.
