Securities council delivered letter to Felix on Ponzi concerns in October last year

The Guyana Securities Council (GSC) delivered a letter to the offices of Citizenship Minister Winston Felix on October 25th last year detailing concerns about pyramid-type schemes which are currently the subject of a major police investigation as thousands of persons here might have been defrauded.

Banking body open to funding infrastructural projects

The Bankers Association of Guyana has indicated to the government its willingness to finance infrastructural projects in the coming years According to a Ministry of Public Works release yesterday, members of the banking association paid a courtesy call on the Minister within the Ministry, Deodat Indar, to discuss “financing options” available to borrowers who intend to pursue infrastructural projects in the coming years.

Significant drop in active COVID-19 cases in Region Nine

The number of active coronavirus disease cases (COVID-19) in the Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo region (Region 9) has significantly decreased during the past few days with the Regional Chairman Bryan Allicock informing that the region now only has 20 active cases.
