Lowenfield likely on the firing line today

With the certifying of the outcome of the March 2nd polls still hanging in the balance, the stage is set when GECOM  meets this morning  for the firing of Chief Election Officer (CEO)  Keith Lowenfield who has thrice defied instructions by the Chairperson, Justice Retired Claudette Singh to present the results of the recount A meeting is scheduled for 10 am at the Commission’s High and Cowan streets, Kingston Headquarters.

A fire which started following discontent among prisoners over the seizure of a quantity of marijuana this afternoon destroyed the old wooden Lusignan Prison facility and has left about 280-300 inmates dislocated, de facto Minister of Public Security Khemraj Ramjattan said today.
