Jonas questions motive behind ministry request for COVID-19 testing

Questioning if an attempt is afoot to “sideline” certain persons during the ongoing recount of votes cast at the March 2nd polls, Chairman of A New and United Guyana (ANUG) and attorney Timothy Jonas yesterday revealed that he has been contacted by the Public Health Ministry to undergo testing for COVID-19.

41 charged in Berbice with breaching curfew

A total of 41 persons have been charged in Berbice over the past week with breaching the national curfew and other restrictions in place to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Environmental agency launches probe into GPL fuel spill

A fuel spill at the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) Kingston Power Complex that seeped into the Demerara River has led the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to launch an investigation and the two agencies are currently collaborating to determine the cause of the spill.
