Mottley urges swift recount, warns again over legitimacy of govt

CARICOM Chair, Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Mottley today called on all concerned to ensure a transparent recount process without further delay in order to provide legitimacy to any government which would be sworn in as a result of the March 2nd general elections.

Jagdeo accuses coalition of planning to derail recount

The planned National Recount has not yet started but the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) has accused the incumbent coalition of planning to derail the process by creating “confusion” and signaled a willingness to declare Irfaan Ali President if such confusion ensues.

Online learning out of reach for Jawalla’s students

Although many persons living in the indigenous community of Jawalla, in Region Seven, are slowly adapting to the restrictions that have been put in place by the Ministry of Public Health to slow the spread of COVID-19, some who need internet access for their education have been unable to properly attend their online classes due to lack of cellular service and poor Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Childcare and Protection Agency (CPA) on Thursday presented advice on measures that children and families can take to cope during the COVID-19 outbreak and urged that `doomsday’ information be avoided.
