No bail for driver found with 68lbs of ganja after chase

Azim Ali, the 30-year-old man who the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) said was recently intercepted with just over 68 pounds of marijuana, was remanded to prison last Wednesday after being charged with possession of the drug for trafficking.

Energy Dep’t defends plan for sale of first three oil cargoes

Under growing criticism over a previously unannounced sale of Guyana’s first three cargoes of oil from ExxonMobil’s Liza-1 field, the Department of Energy (DoE) yesterday defended its plan, saying that the interim arrangement was approved as the full extent of the quality of the crude is still unknown and it wants to set a benchmark to guard against any possible down-pricing in future sales.

CPCE: 377 teachers graduate

Three hundred and seventy-seven teachers graduated from the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) on Friday and heard President David Granger say that Guyana is on the verge of a massive transformative process which will see an ‘education nation’, a ‘green’, ‘digital’ and petroleum producing state.
