Sod turned for monument to arrival of Chinese

The Government in collaboration with the Chinese Association of Guyana yesterday celebrated the 167th anniversary of the arrival of Chinese in Guyana with the turning of the sod for a monument to be erected at Windsor Forest, Region Three.

Mass campaign against filaria launched in Linden

The Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign to make Guyana filaria-free is underway, according to the Department of Public Information (DPI).

ERC calls for end to elections campaign hostilities

Citing incidents of “intimidation, abuse and assault” during political party campaign activities, the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) yesterday issued a call for an immediate end to hostilities in the lead up to and after the March 2nd polls, while announcing plans to re-engage the country’s political leadership on the situation.
