Driver freed of causing child’s death in Sheriff St collision

The charge against Heeranand Boodhram, one of the drivers involved in the fatal Sheriff Street collision that resulted in the death of four-year-old Ambeka Providence in 2016, has been dismissed after a city magistrate ruled that there was insufficient evidence against him.

Troy sacks around 300 workers

Approximately 300 employees of Troy Resources Guyana Inc. were notified of their dismissals yesterday following a decision by the board of the Australian company as it seeks to find a way to restart operations.

SARA claim against GBTI dismissed

A claim by the State Assets Recovery Agency (SARA) against the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) for the payment of $224 million related to a 2015 agreement for the sale of land was struck out on a technicality.
