ExxonMobil begins oil production

ExxonMobil today announced that oil production has started from the Liza field offshore Guyana ahead of schedule and less than five years after the first find of hydrocarbons, which is well ahead of the industry average for deepwater developments.

Brother cops charged with abducting, wounding teen

Two brothers serving in the Guyana Police Force (GPF) were granted their release this morning after they were jointly charged with abducting and wounding 17-year-old Ak shay Budhiram, who was allegedly beaten and burnt at the brothers’ La Parfaite Harmonie home.
