City’s water supply disrupted after major transmission main breakage

Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) yesterday blamed a “major breakage” of a transmission main, located between the Bank of Guyana and the National Library, for the disruption of the water supply to Georgetown’s residents for several hours.

‘Certainly a conflict of interest’

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Central Housing & Planning Authority (CH&PA) Lelon Saul yesterday suggested that the issuance of contracts to Godfrey Yearwood, the husband of Housing Minister Valerie Adams-Yearwood, should be reviewed since a conflict of interest exists.

Gov’t still to decide on replacements for dual citizen MPs

The APNU+AFC administration is still to decide on the candidates from its National Top Up List who will replace its four dual citizenship parliamentarians who have resigned, according to sources who also confirmed that President David Granger has met with one of the coalition’s partners.
