Guyana Goldfields Board battle set for May 22

A battle for control of Canadian miner, Guyana Goldfields Inc (GGI) is set to culminate on May 22 and the Board of Directors on Tuesday hit back at accusations that they have mismanaged the company, outlining a number of actions taken since terminating the services of former Executive Chairman Patrick Sheridan.

East Coast road-widening project 55 per cent complete

Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MoPI), Technical Services Manager, Nigel Erskine has announced that the East Coast Demerara (ECD) road widening project is fifty-five percent completed So far, the contractor, China Railway First Group Limited, has finished the construction of 14.2 kilometres of the reinforced concrete side drain and 473 metres of reinforced revetment.

GECOM mandates CEO to report on poll readiness

With a 90-day constitutional  clock ticking, the Guyana Elections Com-mission (GECOM) has mandated Chief Election Officer (CEO) Keith Lowenfield to prepare a report of possible scenarios with timelines for the holding of general and regional elections for discussion tomorrow when the commission meets again.
