Gov’t still hopeful for US EXIM Bank gas $$ -Jagdeo

Government here does not believe that the United States will pause overseas funding on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects as it recently did internally, but nonetheless has alternative plans for financing if the US EXIM Bank funding isn’t approv-ed, Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday said.

Judge to rule within two weeks on proof of Exxon guarantee

While he has not set a specific date, Justice of Appeal Rishi Persaud said that he will deliver his ruling within the next two weeks, on whether he has jurisdiction to order  ExxonMobil to provide proof that it has indeed lodged a US$2 billion guarantee which is intended to indemnify Guyana against an oil spill and associated perils.

Slight improvement in Sahara dust situation – EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says that the level of particulate matter (dust particles) in the atmosphere caused by  the Saharan Dust Plume has decreased, resulting in a slight improvement in air quality and visibility compared to Wednesday.
