B.E.V to close seafood processing plant

After 34 years of operations, B.E.V Processors Inc will be closing the doors to its Fish and Shrimp Processing Plant at Houston next month and owner Bruce Vieira has cited market challenges, including the implementation of more rigorous certification requirements, as the major factors for his decision.

PAHO to investigate mercury emissions at GGMC

The Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO) will be investigating the presence of mercury at the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) headquarters on Brickdam.

UG, Chinese Embassy sign $4.6M MoU for language lab

Come the next academic year, students of the University of Guyana will be exposed to an improved language learning environment with the development of a language lab, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the university and the Chinese Embassy.

Twenty-four youths for air traffic control training

Twenty-four young people from various parts of the country will begin training as Air Traffic Control Assistants (ATCAs) and Aeronautical Information Management Officers (AIMOs) at the Civil Aviation Training School (CATS) for a period of three months.
