Keon Webster, age 31, who escaped from Police custody while being escorted to the Lusignan Prison, East Coast Demerara, was recaptured by a rank from Brickdam Police Station at about 11:50 am today  at the Stabroek Market Bazaar on Water Street, Georgetown.

Mashaun Tyrell died yesterday morning after he lost control of his vehicle and ended up in a trench in the vicinity of Bel Air on the Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara, the police say.

Three construction workers remanded over break and enter

Carlton Moses, a 23-year-old construction worker from Friendship Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara; Yashua Angoy, an 18-year-old construction worker from Second Street Kaneville, EBD; and Michael Vanderstoop, a 36-year-old construction worker from Grove Housing Scheme, EBD, were all arrested on February 16th, 2024 for the offence of ‘break-and-enter-and-larceny’ committed on the dwelling house of Vidnarine Singh.

High-level meeting held on regional ferry

A high-level meeting was held in Trinidad on Thursday on the proposed regional ferry and all sides agreed on a two-month period for completion of pre-clearance procedures for immigration, customs, and plant quarantine and to make the ferry service a reality as soon as possible.
