Financing hitch snares planned Corentyne bridge

A meeting between the governments of Guyana and Suriname will be held soon to discuss the way forward regarding the financing of the proposed Corentyne River Bridge, Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill says.

Eighteen families from the border town of Lethem, Region 9 yesterday received the keys to their homes under the Lethem Housing Support Programme, a release from the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) said.

The body of Tilach Nateram called ‘Boy’ or ‘Rice’, a 42-year-old fisherman of Number Four Settlement, Blairmont Village, West Bank Berbice (WBB) who was believed to have drowned sometime between 17.30 hours and 23.45 hours on Friday, was found on Friday  in a canal.

Minister of Health,  Dr Frank Anthony, accompanied by the Chairman of Region Six David Armogan, yesterday commissioned a newly constructed Health Post at Schepmoed in Region Six (East Berbice – Corentyne).
