Public health ministers meet public at Congress Place

The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) yesterday held the first in a planned series of meetings with ministers of government for members of the public at its Congress Place, Sophia, headquarters, where a number of people turned up to meet the Public Health Ministers to discuss myriad issues.

After being told that the court registry could not locate the case file for the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into a murder charge for which he is serving as special prosecutor, attorney Glenn Hanoman yesterday voiced his concerns over the “strange things” that have occurred in the case.

Two more testify at KN grenade attack PI

The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the charges against Alfie Garraway, Janiel Howard and Leroy Williams, the three men accused of throwing a grenade at Kaieteur News, continued yesterday with evidence being given by a police witness and the network administrator for the company.

Jaipaul Sharma, Minister within the Ministry of Finance today met with Commissioner of Police Seelall Persaud at the Commissioner of Police’s office to hand over the Final Reports of the Forensic Audits of the Sparendaam Housing Project-(Special Investigation of the Central Housing and Planning Authority) and the Guyana World Cup/Guyana World Cup Inc.

Gov’t abandons interest in Carmichael St land

There will no longer be any action in respect to the compulsory acquisition of two plots of land at Carmichael and Middle streets belonging to High Commissioner to Canada, Clarissa Riehl and her husband and the Beharry Group of Companies, Minister of State Joseph Harmon announced yesterday.
