US, Guyana hold consultation on UN Security Council matters

Subsequent to attaining a seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the Government of Guyana through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation on Friday engaged in a technical consultation on UNSC matters with representatives from State Department of the United States of America.

Buckanair Bar robbed, businesswoman beaten

Two men armed with guns invaded the Buckanair Bar located along the Smithfield Public Road just after midnight on Friday and robbed the owner, who was tied up and assaulted during the incident, of over $500,000 in cash and a large amount of gold jewellery.

Guard wounded in attempted robbery of miner discharged from hospital

The 21-year-old security guard of ‘B’ Field, Sophia, Georgetown who was shot in his right leg on October 18 after he and two other persons were involved in an attempted robbery at a Success Restaurant was yesterday discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital, Regional Commander 4 ‘C’, Senior Superintendent Khali Pareshram stated.
