Some 20 EU companies set for trade mission here

Over 20 companies from countries in Europe have indicated an interest in doing business in Guyana and thus a three-day trade mission is slated to begin on November 20, European Union (EU) Ambassador René van Nes said yesterday.

Twenty-five marriages solemnized in Baramita, Region One

A significant initiative in Baramita, Region One spearheaded by the General Register Office, led by the Deputy Registrar General, has resulted in 25 couples being able to legalise their union.

Opposition MPs protest over power outages

Three Opposition Members of Parliament on Thursday morning staged a  protest in front of the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) head office on Main Street demanding something be done about the continuous blackouts.

Phase Two of Mazaruni Prison project 75% complete

Permanent Secretary (PS) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Andre Ally, paid an impromptu visit to the Mazaruni Prison Complex on Wednesday and was told that Phase Two of the construction at the maximum security facility was 75% complete.

The police today said that a plumber attached to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri at around 9.30 this morning, went to the airport’s public washroom (Departures section) located at the western side of the airport compound to carry out a routine inspection.
