The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) is urging persons to check with the office where they applied for registration to enquire about the availability of their identification cards and to ensure that they uplift them as soon as possible.

Middle Rd murder victim suffered blunt trauma to head, face and neck

A post-mortem examination has revealed that 21-year-old, Amit Singh, who was lured to a house in Middle Road, La Penitence by four suspects and then killed suffered severe blunt trauma The autopsy found that he sustained blunt trauma to the head and face causing multiple fractures, blunt trauma to the neck, and bronchial aspiration of blood.

Enmore lumberyard gutted by grass fire

Millions were lost yesterday as a blaze that started in a garbage dump later mushroomed into a grass fire, travelling some 500 feet to consume Rohan’s Lumberyard at Enmore, East Coast Demerara.

Comedian and taxi driver, Kirk `Chow Pow’ Jardine, of Lot 212 Greenheart Street, South Ruimveldt, appeared yesterday  before Magistrate Rhondel Weever at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court charged with assaulting his daughter.
