MP flays NDIA over pump station projects

While not denying or agreeing with Opposition Member of Parliament Ganesh Mahipaul who yesterday highlighted a number of incomplete pump station contracts throughout the country and questioned the oversight of the procuring entity, the Ministry of Agriculture said that it will soon respond to the claims.

Contractors who damage water mains will be billed for repairs – Baksh

Lamenting that Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) workers, one week ago, had to work around the clock to fix a main on Aubrey Barker Road that was damaged by a contractor, its Chief Executive Officer Shaik Baksh underscored that contractors who damage infrastructure will be responsible for the cost of the repairs, and appealed to residents to promptly report incidents of this nature.

Tepui Group bid should have been thrown out – Goolsarran

The contentious $865 million Belle Vue, West Bank Demerara, Pump Station contract award to Tepui Group was flawed, as not only should the company have been disqualified for not meeting the bidding criteria but the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) erred when it lumped two other contracts to the award, former Auditor General Anand Goolsarran says.
