Hopes of finding a 61-year-old boat captain are slipping away according to family members after the man went missing on Saturday in the Mazaruni River.

The body that was found floating in the Demerara River on Monday has been identified as Calvin Sancho, a security guard attached to GEB Security Services, a release from the Guyana Police Force stated.

Opposition Member, Ganesh Mahipaul, whose name was mentioned in a police statement from the 16-year-old complainant in the case against Local Government Minister Nigel Dharamlall, says he is baffled and would like an explanation why his name was stated.
