Cotton Tree woman, 20, is latest maternal death

A 20-year-old Berbician yesterday died in transit from the Fort Wellington Hospital to the New Amsterdam Hospital, following delivery complications, but at least one doctor knowledgeable about the case believes the woman could have been alive if she had gone to the hospital sooner.

UNDP provides US$75,000 for human trafficking fight

The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security yesterday received US$75,000 ($15.4M) from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for a project to help combat human trafficking by giving support to the victims and their families.
