Leopold St mechanic shot dead

The police say they are investigating the murder of Troy Rodrigues, called ‘Kelly’, a 23-year-old mechanic of Lot 165 Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown, which occurred at about 19:15 hrs yesterday at Vlissengen Square, between West Ruimveldt Front Road and Mandela Avenue.

Trump violated Grant’s Electric Avenue rights – US court

The United States District Court in the Southern District of New York has issued an Opinion and Order in the matter concerning Guyanese-born international artiste, Eddy Grant and former United States president, Donald Trump, ruling that Grant’s music was improperly used and the musician was not compensated for his creation.

$100m allocated to upgrade Campbelltown internal roads – DPI

Based on a commitment made by Vice President, Bharrat Jagdeo during a recent visit, $100 million has been earmarked to upgrade several internal roads from laterite to concrete at Campbelltown, an Amerindian village in Potaro-Siparuni, Region Eight, a Department of Public Information (DPI) release stated on Wednesday.

Twenty Yakusari women on Information Technology training

The government is continuing with its drive to make post-secondary education and skills training available across Guyana’s rural and hinterland regions and this time it has focussed its attention on Yakusari, Black Bush Polder, Berbice, where more than 20 women, ages 16 to 38, are on a journey to becoming certified in Information Technology (IT).
